It’s the end of the month as we know it

Time to recap the past month! I didn’t really have time to do my own designs, since I participated in the challenge, even though I skipped a few. But here’s all my challenge nails:

These were for clairestelle8challenge on Instagram. I managed to do 6 out of 8 prompts, so I am pleased – downside was that I really did not have time to do my own ideas. I only got to do two of my own, seen here in my monthly mani favourite collage:

So I think I’ll sit out this month’s challenges and do my own thing – especially since I am NOT a huge fan of Halloween, and everyone else seems to be, and my Instagram feed is already full of spiders and cobwebs… Maybe I’ll do anti-Halloween nails. Flowers all month! Hearts and unicorns and all things cute! I did get some of the new blogger collaboration plates from Bundle Monster, which will make an appearance in the blog shortly.

How was your mani month?

A Diseased Dish

More challenge nails – originally I had planned to skip this, since water melon nails are done to death, but lo and behold, I ended up doing them. I had also planned on doing water marble instead of gradient, but it was just one of those days when water marble refuses to work. Water marblers everywhere know what I mean. Moon was possibly in a bad position, or the tides hadn’t come in, or I had been cursed by an evil sprite.. who knows? It wasn’t the day for it.

And since the previous water spotted nails were such a success, I did it on top of this gradient too. The result: a fairly… sick water melon. Or a water melon from Hell? What do you think?

Antique jade and gold

Time for another challenge nails – the prompt for 6th was gold, and unfortunately I already used it last time, but never fear! I managed to think up another design!

Kiko 345

This Kiko colour was called Jade, and it’s drop dead gorgeous. I love this sort of dusty and stone-y muted colour! Sadly, it was really hard to capture on camera. In any case, a new favourite.

On top of it I added water spots. This was my first time trying to do it, and it was such a mess.. but eventually I got the hang of it. Luckily I didn’t die of hair spray overdose.

I love these! What do you think?
